Vacation – Part 2

A couple more photos from the vacation. First, a shot of a gull on the beach (Upper Peninsula) of Lake Michigan. I followed this fellow down the beach trying to get him to spring into the air to see if I could get a photo of that split second. He kept walking away from me and I kept snapping pictures. When he finally did take to the air, he was too quick for me and I didn’t get the shot I was hoping for. But I like how this one turned out with the smooth sand and his shadow.

Second, sunrise, I believe, over the east lake at Interlochen State Park in Michigan. Nice warm colors and glow off the water.

Bee, Flower, Pollen

This is a nice pic of a bee on a flower. I took many and really this was the only decent one. The above photo is zoomed in pretty far, but I wanted to see if I could go in closer without detracting from the image. You can see the results below.

I should also say that I am just starting to play around with Lightroom and used it for both images. My sense is that its non-destructive way to make adjustments has resolution benefits when you zoom in and export a relatively small part of the image.
